Hi !
Sorry for answering so late but I somehow didn’t see your message. Yes, as you point out, Écume de rose is a little sticky, the way your skin feels after swimming in the sea. I don’t find it too sweet, though I’m no one sweetness either. I suppose the immortelle keeps the rose at bay, at any rate sufficiently for my taste, yet it probably accounts for the stickness you sense.
As to your second question, I must say I don’t know any of Les Parfums de Rosine’s masculine perfumes, but some of them get good reviews. Howerver, I think one thing to bear in mind is that all PDR’s scents are in too cheap a range if you want top quality ingredients. So I don’t expect anything absolutely fantastic, like Portrait of a Lady, a really top notch rose/patchouli derived from a masculine perfume. The best you can get is a original composition and an interesting concept plus a good rose.
All this relatively new ballerina thing I dislike, but Écume de rose and Zeste de Rose (a lemony perfume with very little rose, as far as I can remember, you may like better) appeal to me, as well as some of the more classical stuff. Apparently Rose Flamenco is discontinued, which is a pity and I think others have been as well.
Kind regards,
Lavinia
